*FENDER Stratocaster, ca 1959 with a '66 Jazzmaster neck, the
neck plate serial # 98848, this has a sunburst Fender factory
refinish done ca 1965-66 with bold Fender markings stamped
into the body, neck is stamped “13 Sept 66 B”, someone has
carefully overlaid the word “stratocaster” onto the “jazzmaster"
name in the decal, bound board with block inlays, ‘single line'
Kluson tuners, pick guard appears to be from 1966, off white
that’s aged a bit but is lacking the metal shielding plate,
“black bottom" pickups, 1 of the pots is dated Feb, 1963
and another appears to be the same but code is covered in solder,
the third is a newer, has original saddles, bridge and switch,
the body is clearly older- '57-59 as it has the larger cavity
typical of 1954-1961 before the shoulder was added in the control
cavity, there’s a blue penciled date written in the middle pickup
route which could be read as 1957 or 1959, there are bits of blue
paint here and there (see pics ) and other specs of red and gold paint
testifying to the body having been other colors in it's life,
the refinish is perfect and was done by Fender and exhibits the tone
of the sunburst color that we see in ‘65-’66. All in all this guitar
looks like it was pieced together from a ca 1959 body, perhaps a 1963
wiring harness, and a ‘66 Jazzmaster neck, with original case,

solid and straight-forward guitar, without compromises when it

This series will be limited to 10 instruments.
Prime tone wood bodies are topped with Michael’s artistic collages
made from reclaimed woods. During the making of any guitar quite
a bit of wood remnants are created, which generally find their way
into the trash or become firewood. Michael collects these pieces
and uses them for his 3-D collages. Different colours and textures
combine into unique pieces, each body a canvas for his art. It
would not be Michael if he did not infuse even his most production-oriented
instruments with his unique signature art.
TOTEM-X.2 are individually handmade in our workshop Austria; and same as
the original series, they also use reclaimed wood for the tops.
The Totem-X.2 series has an Alder body with a Maple neck, a 25 ½" scale
Indian Rosewood fingerboard and is fitted with a TV Jones Powertron
in the neck and a Lindy Fralin HO humbucker (splittable) in the bridge.

shaft holes in the peghead back to the original
open back Waverly tuners, it has new maple bridge plate
made from aged sugar maple salvaged from an antique piano
by John who states that the guitar probably had a '50s-'60s
refinish at the Martin factory- it has a checked and aged
nitrocellulose finish, there are several small tight
repaired top cracks and 2 splinted top cracks, there is
1 side crack at the bass waist about 2 1/2" long
with lacquer touchup, there are no back cracks, bracing appears
unmodified except for the aforementioned bridge plate,
all repairs made with hot hide glue including to a neck heel
crack, it has a perfect repro ebony slotted thru bridge and
has the original un-slotted bridge pins, a neck set was also
done by Mr. Arnold and the frets were leveled, re-crowned
and polished, a new ivory nut was fabricated as well as
a new saddle, all resulting in a structurally sound instrument
that is an extremely wonderful sounding and playing guitar,

mid-1960s Martin D-28S(W) by upstate New York luthier David LaPlante.
Many parts were sourced from the late Martin Historian Mike Longworth
including an old '60s original genuine mahogany neck blank, ebony
fret board and bridge (2 5/16" pin spacing with the close set-back
found on these guitars from 1967-1969) as well as a gorgeous old
Brazilian rosewood back set, the top is a superb example of Italian
Alpine spruce sourced from Martin at the 2017 A.S.I.A. luthier's
convention with the narrow 60's style 28 rosette faithfully recreated.
Full 1 7/8" nut width and 25.4" scale completes the correct 60s specs,
Lacquer finish by long time Martin finisher Dale Bartholomew who started
at Martin in 1966 and worked there over 50 years. Likely the last of these
to be built, as the stock of original parts is now gone, with the

RainSong 6-string neck, it is ergonomically sound and actually results
in better transfer of string vibration energy to the soundboard.
The N2 features a truss rod that is accessible from the head stock.
Graphite does not warp or bow with changes in humidity and temperature.
